The latest 2020 meeting dates for our District Groups, AGMs and Events. 

 
Conference : ‘The way forward – Better Design and Better Planning for Dorset’s Housing’.
Roger White, a member and an eminent Georgian Architectural historian is planning this event for the 13th March 2020 in Cerne Abbas Village Hall, 10-4.30pm. The conference will be opened by Emma Bridgewater, the CPRE’s national president. We have a full line-up of distinguished speakers, including Ben Bolgar from The Prince’s Foundation, the well-known designer Ben Pentreath, and the internationally-renowned landscape designer Kim Wilkie. The Earl of Moray will be coming down from Scotland to talk about the town that he is developing on his land near Inverness. More details to follow later in January.
 
Annual Branch AGM
21st November 2020, Cerne Abbas Village Hall, 11am.
 

Countryside Forum - Fridays

Four meeting dates 24th January, 19th June, 18th September and 4th December. No meeting date in March due to design and planning conference on 13th March.

Summer Garden Party 2020
June/July period. Details will be posted in May with the spring edition of our magazine 'The Dorset Review'. 

Induction Day at CPRE National Office for new volunteers

Three times a year, February, May and October. Exact dates for 2020 to be confirmed.
 
The Sherborne and District Society
AGM: Rayleigh Hall, Digby Road, Sherborne. Date to be confirmed. Guests are welcome.
Sherborne Castle Country Fair
25th May 2020
Committee Meetings: Meetings all in the Raleigh Hall, Digby Road, Sherborne 4.00 – 6.00 pm first Tuesday every other month starting in February: 4th February, 7th April, 2nd June, 4th August, 6th October and 1st December
Farm Visit 2020
In 2019 we visited Sherborne Castle home farm. 2020 details to be confirmed.
Autumn Lecture / Society Dinner
Details to be confirmed. In 2019, Guest Speaker, Margaret Clark CBE - A CPRE Trustee and Chair of both the Plunkett Foundation and The Rural Coalition gave a talk on rural issues. A copy of Margaret's talk is

North Dorset Group
Committee Meetings: 24th February 6.30pm at Rupert Hardy's home.
Milton Abbas Street Fair: Held every 2 years end of July. Hope to have a stand at the fair again in 2021.
AGM: 2nd April 2020, 5.30pm, at Clayesmore School, Iwerne Minster DT11 8LL. Speaker: Jo Witherden, Planning Consultant.
Farm visit: In 2019 eighteen members of North Dorset CPRE went on a tour of George and Dougal Hosford's farm in Durweston on the 11th June. This followed on from George's successful talk at the North Dorset CPRE AGM. 
Summer Party: In 2019 the event was held at Chettle House through the generosity of Tom and Rosamond Sweet-Escott. Plans for 2020 will be confirmed at a later date.

Purbeck & Poole Group
Committee Meetings: 3rd February, 23rd March, 8th June, 7th September and 23rd November venue CJ’s adjacent to Lychett Matravers Church, BH16 6JE.
Open Evening and AGM: AGM/Open Meeting in late September / early October, The Wareham Corn Exchange (North Street, Wareham) at 7:00 pm. 

West Dorset Group
AGM: Proposed date Saturday, 28th March, 10 am to 12 noon at the new Charminster Community Hall near Dorchester. Guest speaker Dr Richard Miles, The British Astronomical Association, a CPRE Member now based in North Dorset, and operates the Golden Hill Observatory, which is in a nice dark-sky region of the UK.
 

CPRE Green Clean 2020

CPRE's Green Clean returned again in September 2019, thank you to all volunteers who supported the litter picks. Details for September 2020 will be added closer to the date.

Deadlines for articles are 18th March (Spring edition) & 7th Sept (Autumn edition).
