26th April 2019

Peter Neal has written to those nominated for election as a Councillor for Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council and Dorset Council ahead of the 2nd May council elections.

In his letter, Peter Neal, Chair of Trustees, calls on candidates to protect the countryside its towns and villages now and for future generations.

"Dorset CPRE works to promote, enhance and protect the Dorset countryside, for the benefit of all. We are driven by the work of passionate local volunteers and are part of a wider national Network of CPRE groups in every county who campaign for a beautiful and thriving countryside for everyone to value and enjoy.
We want to see a beautiful and biodiverse countryside, with thriving communities, where the needs of local people are met and their voices are heard in decision-making, for example on planning.

We therefore ask you to support policies which support the countryside locally in the following areas:

We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you after the election to discuss these issues, and how Dorset CPRE can support you to deliver policies that meet the needs of local communities, while enhancing the countryside for current and future generations to enjoy."
