Minerals in Dorset

Kingbarrow Quarry on the Isle of Portland. The quarry was last worked about sixty years ago and is now managed as a nature reserve by Dorset Wildlife Trust.     This is a fine example of how a large industrial site which employed several hundred men can be restored to an attractive venue for the benefit of many forms of wildlife.
