The latest 2020 meeting dates for our District Groups, AGMs and Events. 

 
The Dorset CPRE is run from a home office. We are looking to run future scheduled Countryside Forum & Trustees Meetings using Zoom Video and Audio Conferencing software. Please email and phone as normal if you have queries. All District Group AGMs postponed until further notice. Thank you for your support.

Conference : ‘The way forward – Better Design and Better Planning for Dorset’s Housing’ 13th March
We staged a highly successful conference to examine the question that preoccupies many residents of the county: how to achieve new housing that is better designed and better planned than is currently often the case. Full read our press release for full details.

Countryside Forum - Fridays

Four meeting dates 24th January, 19th June, 18th September and 4th December. No meeting date in March due to design and planning conference on 13th March.

Trustees Committee Meetings - Fridays
21st February, 15th May, 4th September & 11th December.
 
Summer Garden Party 2020
7th July, 12 - 3pm. This event is now postponed until 2021, new date to be confirmed early next year.
 

Induction Day at CPRE National Office in London for new volunteers

Three times a year, March 10th, June and October. Exact dates for 2020 to be confirmed.
 
The Sherborne and District Society
AGM: POSTPONED NEW DATE TO BE ADVISED Friday 20th March 7.00pm in the Rayleigh Hall, Digby Road, Sherborne. Wine will be served from 7:00 to 7:30 pm. Guests are welcome. Please contact Fiona Hartley, Hon. Secretary, if you plan to attend. Two talks:

Autumn Lecture / Society Dinner
Details to be confirmed. In 2019, Guest Speaker, Margaret Clark CBE - A CPRE Trustee and Chair of both the Plunkett Foundation and The Rural Coalition gave a talk on rural issues. A copy of Margaret's talk is

North Dorset Group
Committee Meetings: 24th February 6.30pm at Rupert Hardy's home.
Milton Abbas Street Fair: Held every 2 years end of July. Hope to have a stand at the fair again in 2021.
AGM: POSTPONED NEW DATE IN OCTOBER TO BE ADVISED 2nd April 2020, 5.30pm, at Clayesmore School, Iwerne Minster DT11 8LL. Speaker: Jo Witherden, Planning Consultant.
 
We will have a stand at the fair which has a conservation and country activities bias for those who have not been before. 11,000 visitors came last year over the two days. Stock Gaylard Estate is a small traditional country estate just over 4 miles from Sturminster Newton and 8 miles from Sherborne.
 
Farm visit: In 2019 eighteen members of North Dorset CPRE went on a tour of George and Dougal Hosford's farm in Durweston on the 11th June. This followed on from George's successful talk at the North Dorset CPRE AGM. 
 
Summer Party: Monday, 14th September at 6pm at The Old Rectory, Blandford. Lovely and extensive garden. Formal invitations will be sent out in the summer.

Purbeck & Poole Group
Committee Meetings: 3rd February, 23rd March (cancelled), 8th June, 7th September and 23rd November venue CJ’s adjacent to Lytchett Minster Church, BH16 6JE.
Open Evening and AGM: AGM/Open Meeting in late September / early October, The Wareham Corn Exchange (North Street, Wareham) at 7:00 pm.

West Dorset Group
AGM: POSTPONED NEW DATE TO BE ADVISED Saturday, 28th March, 10 am to 12 noon at the new Charminster Community Hall near Dorchester. Guest speaker Dr Richard Miles, The British Astronomical Association, a CPRE Member now based in North Dorset, and operates the Golden Hill Observatory, which is in a nice dark-sky region of the UK.
 

CPRE Green Clean 2020

CPRE's Green Clean returned again in September 2019, thank you to all volunteers who supported the litter picks. Details for September 2020 will be added closer to the date.
