2021/22 Meeting dates Countryside Forum, Planning Group, Trustees, District Group and events

 
The Dorset CPRE is run from a home office. We are currently holding Countryside Forum & Trustees Meetings using Zoom. Our local groups are also holding committee meeting using Zoom where possible.

Annual Branch AGM 20th November 2021, at 11am, at Cerne Abbas Village Hall. Guest speaker, Crispin Truman OBE, CEO at CPRE
Invites are posted with the autumn edition of our magazine 'The Dorset Review'
 
Conference: We are looking at running a planning conferene in spring 2022.

Monthly Planning Group Meetings 2021

We have held nine meetings so far to discuss the Dorset Council and BCP Local Plans and planning related matters. Open to members. Next meeting is on Tuesday 21st September, starting at 10am to 12 noon latest. The meeting is open to Dorset CPRE members. Please This email address is being protected from spambots. We have decided to wait until early July 2022 to hold our next Garden Party.

Committee Meetings: Meetings via Zoom (until we can return to Raleigh Hall, Digby Road, Sherborne) 4.00 – 6.00 pm first Tuesday every other month starting in February: 2nd February, 6th April, 1st June, 3rd August, 5th October and 7th December
 
AGM: Thursday 23rd September, 6:00 for 6:30pm in the Rayleigh Hall, Digby Road, Sherborne. 
 
Sherborne Castle Country Fair
31st May 2021 (cancelled)
 
Farm Visit: Castle Farm, Sherborne, 7th July starting at 2pm. Invitation has been sent by email to Sherborne & District Society Members. Numbers are limited.

Milton Abbas Street Fair: Held every 2 years end of July. We hope to have a stand at the fair again in July 2022.
 

AGM and Talk by Jo Witherden on “Rebuilding Trust in Dorset’s Planning Systems”

On Tuesday 1st June we held a virtual Zoom AGM and talk by Jo Witherden, the Planning Consultant. 

Oak Fair, Stock Gaylard 2021 28th and 29th August 2021
We had a stand at the 2021 fair which has a conservation and country activities bias for those who have not been before. Stock Gaylard Estate is a small traditional country estate just over 4 miles from Sturminster Newton and 8 miles from Sherborne.
 
Outing to Martin Green's Museum/Tour of Prehistoric Sites postponed

Purbeck & Poole Group
Committee Meetings:  Meetings normally take place in February, March, June, Septemer and November. Gerald Rigler is looking to make a provisional booking
for the use of Cj's (in Lytchett Minster, BH16 6JE) in October. (Meeting due to be held on 20th September 2021 is cancelled).
 
Planet Purbeck festival 25th September 2021 in Swanage
We will have a table in the Mowlem Theatre's large restaurant/bar room, with fine sea views, on the 1st floor. More details on the Planet Purbeck Festival and events. 
Open Evening and AGM: To be confirmed.
 
West Dorset Group
AGM: Date to be confirmed and hope to book again the new Charminster Community Hall near Dorchester. Guest speaker Dr Richard Miles, The British Astronomical Association, a CPRE Member now based in North Dorset, and operates the Golden Hill Observatory, which is in a nice dark-sky region of the UK.

Deadlines for articles are 28th March (Spring edition) & 17th September (Autumn edition).
